Building Organisational Capability Course – Two Sessions Remaining

What it’s about

The Building Organizational Capability (BOC) course is CMMI Institute’s core training on the CMMI V3.0 framework. Over four days, it explains model structure, key practice areas, and how to apply CMMI to improve processes, performance, and quality across domains (Development, Services, Data, People, Security, Safety, etc.). It combines lectures, exercises, and prepares learners for the CMMI Practitioner exam.

Why attend

The course helps organizations reduce defects, rework, cost, and risk while improving productivity and customer satisfaction. It gives participants the knowledge and credential to support CMMI appraisals, implement process improvement, and link capability building to business outcomes.

Joint Publication – Strategy-Execution Gap Using CMMI

We’re excited to share the CMMI Institute’s latest publication, “CMMI’s Guide to Bridging the Strategy–Execution Gap,” which Demix proudly collaborated on as a contributing Strategic Partner.

In today’s fast-paced business world, many organisations struggle to translate great ideas and plans into tangible results. Studies from Harvard Business Review and McKinsey show that up to 90 % of strategies fail in execution — often because of siloed processes, shifting priorities, or weak accountability. This new CMMI publication directly tackles these issues, offering a practical, structured framework to help leaders move from planning to measurable performance.

The guide outlines how CMMI enables organisations to:

• Align strategic intent with execution through a cohesive process maturity model.

• Build capability and resilience across people, systems, and governance functions.

• Embed continuous improvement using CMMI’s five capability levels – from initial to optimising (see the diagram on page 3 of the guide).

• Address real-world challenges such as poor risk management, inconsistent quality, and inefficient resource use — backed by measurable results, including an 87 % success rate in achieving improvement objectives and 24 % gains in productivity

The publication also illustrates how major brands — like Coca-Cola® in the case study on page 5 — could have avoided execution missteps by applying CMMI principles such as deeper customer validation, data-driven decision-making, and balancing innovation with brand values.

In collaboration with the CMMI Institute, Demix contributed our experience in cybersecurity maturity, process performance, and governance, ensuring that the guide reflects both global best practice and practical application.
